Which level is right for you?
- Beginner needs naked singles only: there is always a square with just one possible number. The place to start, for adults and children alike.
- Easy adds hidden singles: the one square in a row, column or box where a number fits. No pencil marks needed.
- Medium needs naked pairs and pointing pairs, so pencil marks start to pay off. Most people find this level the most satisfying.
- Hard needs box/line reduction and naked triples on top of that.
- Expert needs an X-Wing in every puzzle, and Fiendish goes beyond every textbook technique.
Want a change from the classic grid? Killer Sudoku swaps most starting numbers for cages with sums, Jigsaw Sudoku replaces the 3 × 3 boxes with odd-shaped regions, Diagonal Sudoku makes both long diagonals count, and Mini Sudoku 6×6 is the whole game in a few minutes. Each variant book runs from easy to hard.
Stuck? Scan for a hint
Every classic puzzle in the books has a small QR code beside the grid. Scan it with your phone camera and the same puzzle opens in Ninebloom, where a hint names the technique that cracks the next square and shows you why. The app is free on Google Play, needs no account and works offline; more at ninebloom.leafyorb.com. You never need it to finish a book: every solution is printed at the back.
How to print them
- Pick the file for your paper. Every book comes as a US Letter PDF and an A4 PDF.
- Print at 100%. Choose “Actual size”, not “Fit to page”, so the 4-inch grid keeps squares big enough for pencil marks.
- Print the pages you want. The puzzles are pages 5 to 64, two to a page, and the solutions follow, six to a page.
- Print as often as you like. The personal-use license covers your own family and classroom.
