A printable coloring book arrives the moment you pay, never gets lost in the post, and can look every bit as good as a bought one under the tree. Here are three ways to turn a PDF into a present, and which of our books suit which people.
Can you give a printable coloring book as a gift?
Yes. You can buy a printable coloring book and give it in one of two ways: print the pages yourself and wrap them, or send the PDF to the person you’re giving it to so they can print it at home. Printing it yourself makes a more finished present. Put sixty pages on good paper in a folder or a bound book, with a set of pencils, and it’s ready to wrap. Sending the file is quicker and works across the world at the last minute. Either way, the book is theirs to print as often as they like for themselves and their family. Please don’t share it beyond the person you’re giving it to.
1. Print it and bind it
The most “real book” option. Print the US Letter or A4 file single-sided at 100% on 120 gsm (32 lb) paper, then ask a print or copy shop for comb or spiral binding, which lies flat for coloring. Add a sheet of card at each end as covers; the first page of every file is a full-color cover you can print on card. Most shops can print and bind in one visit; ask for single-sided, black and white, actual size.
2. Make a gift folder
Print a selection of pages, say ten or twenty favorites rather than all sixty, and put them in a nice folder or tie them with ribbon, with a small set of colored pencils or gel pens. Print the cover and the full-color reference guide too: the guide shows every page finished, which is lovely to flick through. You can always print more pages later.
3. Send the file
The last-minute option. Download the PDFs from your confirmation email and send them to the recipient with a note, or put them on a USB stick in a card. Send the US Letter file to someone in the US or Canada and the A4 file almost everywhere else, and point them to our printing guide.

Checkout sends the download links to the email address you enter. Buy with your own email, then forward the files, or print them and give them yourself.
At a print shop, sixty single-sided black-and-white pages plus binding is usually a modest cost, often less than home ink for the same pages. Ask the shop for a quote.
Yes. Once it’s theirs, they can print pages as often as they like for themselves and their family.
