Which Halloween book?

Pumpkin Purrs is the gentlest: round pumpkins, friendly ghosts, trick-or-treat candy, black cats and a haunted house you’d happily visit, with big shapes that suit markers as well as pencils. It’s the one to start with if you want Halloween with nothing frightening in it.

Sugar & Fangs is pastel goth: bat-wing hearts, melting skull ice creams, dark roses, moon phases and potion bottles with ribbons on everything. Patch & Bone is creepy-cute with the creepy turned down, with stitched plushies, round little monsters and mummies. Bramble & Bat is for animal lovers, with bats, moths, owls and woodland creatures under the moon, and Coven & Cream is fifty witchy cats, from hat-wearers to cauldron-stirrers.

Sugar & Fangs and Bramble & Bat have the most detail, so they suit sharp pencils or fine-tip pens; Pumpkin Purrs and Patch & Bone are the easiest. For the whole spooky shelf, the Spooky Season Five-Pack has all five books for $24.99 instead of $34.95, and $19.99 until 31 October.

Coloring ideas for Halloween pages

  • Keep it cute with candy colors. Lilac, mint, peach and butter yellow turn even a skull or a bat into something soft. Save black and deep purple for small accents.
  • Make the lanterns glow. Color a pumpkin’s light yellow in the middle, then orange, then a touch of red at the edges, and leave a thin line of white paper at the brightest point.
  • Go pastel goth. Dusty rose, plum and cream with a gold accent works on the Sugar & Fangs pages, with a gel pen for the highlights.
  • Use a dark sky. For the night scenes, color the sky first in navy or indigo, pressing lightly, then add the moon and stars last so they stay bright.

Every book comes with a full-color reference guide, a colored version of each page numbered to match, if you’d like a palette to start from.

Common questions

Are these Halloween coloring pages scary?

No. The ghosts, bats and skeletons are drawn round and smiling, and there is nothing gory or frightening in any of the five books.

Are they for adults or for kids?

They’re drawn for teens and adults, with clean outlines and room to fill. The easier books, Pumpkin Purrs and Patch & Bone, also suit older children who like to color.

How many Halloween pages are there?

Each of the five books has 50 pages, so 250 Halloween coloring pages in all.

What should I color them with?

Colored pencils, gel pens and fine-tip markers all work. For gel pens and fine-tip markers print on 100–120 gsm (28–32 lb) paper; for alcohol or brush markers use 160 gsm (65 lb) or cardstock so the ink doesn’t soak through. The printing guide has the details.

Can I print the same page more than once?

Yes. Print as many copies as you like for yourself, your family or your own classroom. The license has the details.
