Printable coloring pages for classrooms

Printable coloring pages are a cheap, calm classroom staple: early-finisher work, a quiet corner, wet-play afternoons, or a gentle start after lunch. Here’s what our license lets teachers print, which of our designs suit which ages, and a few ways to use them.

Can teachers print coloring pages for their class?

Yes. Our personal-use license lets a teacher who buys a book print as many copies as they need for the children they personally teach, for as long as they like. What it doesn’t allow is passing the file on: please don’t upload it to a shared school drive or a learning platform, email it to colleagues, or resell it on a site like Teachers Pay Teachers. Each teacher who wants to use the pages should buy their own copy. For a whole-school, library or group license, email littlepageshop@leafyorb.com.

Which designs suit which ages?

All of our books are drawn for teens and adults, and there’s nothing scary or unsuitable in any of them. As a rough guide:

AgeTry
About 7–10The simplest Cozy Cottage books, such as Cats, Woodland Friends and Kitchen, with pencils rather than chunky crayons
About 10–13Any Cozy Cottage book; Village and Nooks give a fuller page
TeensCozy Cottage for quick sessions, Honeywick for art-room focus and blending practice

Our guide to easy vs detailed coloring pages shows the two styles side by side.

Ways to use them in class

  • Early-finisher tray. Print a small stack from two or three books and let children choose. Refill it each half-term.
  • Calm corner. Bold, simple pages suit a quiet space where a child needs a few minutes to settle.
  • Seasonal displays. Fall and Christmas pages make an easy wall display at the right time of year.
  • Color and write. Ask older children to color a village or cottage scene, then write the story of who lives there.
  • Color theory. Use the full-color reference guide that comes with each book to talk about warm and cool palettes, then let children choose their own.

Printing a class set

Print single-sided, in grayscale, at 100% scale, using the US Letter or A4 file to match your school’s paper. Standard copier paper is fine for pencils; for felt-tip markers use heavier paper or put a scrap sheet underneath. The school photocopier works too: print one clean copy at actual size and copy from that. Our printing guide has the details.

Want to try before you buy? The free samplers have one page from every book, and you’re welcome to print them for your class.

Common questions

Can I share the PDF with another teacher?

Please don’t. The license covers the children you personally teach. Send colleagues to the shop or the free samplers instead, or email us about a school license.

Can I put the pages on our school’s online learning platform?

No, the files and pages can’t be uploaded or shared online. Print them and hand them out instead.

Are the designs suitable for young children?

The content is gentle and suitable for all ages, but the designs are drawn for older children, teens and adults. For under-7s, the spaces may be small for crayons.
