Why the print is so large

Most word search books are set in 14- to 18-point letters, which is fine until it isn’t. These are 30-point: about twice the height, in a grid of twelve letters a side with a ruled line between every cell, so the eye never loses its row. The word lists are large too, and so are the solutions. If you still want them bigger, print on Tabloid or A3 paper with “Fit to page” and the letters come out nearly half as large again.

Who the collection is for

Jumbo Word Search is made for older adults and anyone with low vision, and for the people who look after them: families printing a few puzzles for a parent, carers and activity coordinators who want something to hand round the table. The themes are gentle and familiar, the words everyday ones, and because the words only run across and down the puzzles are satisfying rather than frustrating.

Questions about the collection

Are the ten books different?

Yes. All thousand puzzles are different, each book keeps to its own theme, and no puzzle appears in more than one book.

Do I get a physical book?

No, these are PDF downloads you print yourself, at home or at a print shop. The links arrive straight after checkout.

Do the words go backwards or diagonally?

No. Every word reads left to right or top to bottom. That’s deliberate: the puzzle is finding the word, not decoding it.

Are the answers included?

Yes. Every book has a solutions section at the back with each word marked in the grid it came from, printed just as large as the puzzles.

Can I buy one book now and the rest later?

Yes. Each book is sold on its own, and the bundles are there for when you want several at once.
