Sixty cats, one in every cottage nook
Cozy Cottage Cats is our cat book: 60 different pages, each with a cat (occasionally two) as the star. They’re curled up in a window box of geraniums, asleep on a patchwork quilt, squeezed into a teacup, a wellington boot, a laundry basket and a bread basket, watching birds at the feeder, sheltering under an umbrella and having a picnic on a blanket. The cats are round and chibi-cute, with big heads and happy closed eyes, and the props around them stay simple, so a page is relaxing to color rather than fiddly.
Cats wander through the rest of the Cozy Cottage books too: on the doorstep in Cozy Cottage, by the range in Cozy Cottage Kitchen, on window seats and writing desks in Cozy Cottage Nooks, in the pumpkin patch in Cozy Cottage Autumn and climbing the tree in Cozy Cottage Christmas. If you’d like the cat book plus the two seasonal books, the Seasons & Cats trio is all three for $16.99.
Coloring ideas for cats
- Pick a real coat first. Ginger tabby (honey brown with darker stripes), grey and white, calico (patches of honey, cream and soft black-brown) and cream are all easy with a few pencils. A coat you know makes a page feel like your own cat.
- Keep dark cats mid-tone. For a black cat, use charcoal grey or dark brown rather than pure black, then press harder only at the edges. Pure black flattens the face and hides the happy eyes.
- Give the cat the brightest spot. Soft sage, blush pink or butter yellow around the cat and a slightly warmer or stronger color on the cat itself keeps the eye where it belongs.
- Blush is the finishing touch. A light circle of pink pencil on each cheek, added last, is what makes these cats look sleepy and content.
Every book comes with a full-color reference guide, a colored version of each page numbered to match, if you’d like a palette to start from.

Common questions
They’re drawn for teens and adults, but the style is cute and gentle with bold outlines and open spaces, so older children who can color with pencils enjoy them too. There’s nothing scary in any of them.

Yes. Print as many copies as you like for yourself, your family or your own classroom. The license has the details.
Colored pencils, markers, gel pens and crayons all work. For gel pens and fine-tip markers, print on 100–120 gsm (28–32 lb) paper; for alcohol or brush markers, use 160 gsm (65 lb) or cardstock so the ink doesn’t soak through.
